Most people live in China, but who lives in Norway?
The answer lies between the lines in a feature film full of surprises: inspired by eight political parties, written by six screenwriters and directed by nine driectors. Its story unfolds during the magical 24 hours before an election. We meet Lasse, who earns a living by selling petrol, but dreams of being a pilot. This particular 24 hours turns out to be a truly extraordinary day and night for Lasse.
Using political parties as inspiration for stories about Norway is a brilliant idea. The majority of us can identify with one or more parties. All the political parties have a manifestor which gives expression to values, attitudes and mentalities that can easily turn into actions and conflicts. These are the basis of all film stories and give us a golden opportunity to make funny and serious statements about this strange little country Norway.
See the offbeat comedy about small things and big consequences that provided inspiration for Parties, the series of eight short film about Finnish political parties also screened in Nordisk Panorama 2007!
