He has 15 years of experience working with digital media, covering entrepreneurship, R&D and lecturing. He is specialized in working at the borderland between technology and content production and combining these in a way that creates business potential. Kimmo lives in Kempele close to City of Oulu and enjoys sailing and wandering in wildlife.


Joonas Pekkanen, Floobs Oy - Vision of the future TV, M.Sc.(econ), CEMS MIM,

is co-founder of Floobs Ltd, Helsinki. He founded Floobs Ltd with his friend Kai Lemmetty in January 2007. Floobs® is a new web and mobile service for social media. Floobs allows users and communities to produce their own television channels online. Users can produce, store, edit and distribute content in real-time. Pekkanen has previously founded the patented ReturnMe.org mobile lost and found service and worked as a researcher at LTT-Research Ltd. Pekkanen has also founded and is a board member of Akateeminen Yrittäjäklubi Ry, an association that assists young entrepreneurs pro bono. Joonas’ strengths are commercializing new concepts, mobile innovations and social media. He enjoys entrepreneurship, friends and environment.

Jari’s special field is Digital Media Development in big media houses, i.e. starting new projects and carrying them out with partners up until they are launched. His main task has been working at the starting of new projects dealing with digital services. His strengths include strategies and managing creative organizations and networks.  Jari Lahti’s hobbies are running and literature.


Sami Hokkanen, Managing Director, Provisual Oy /Pixoff.net – Mobile short movies; content producers perspective

Provisual Ltd designs and produces content and carries out productions for different receiver devices and audio-visual media. Hokkanen has worked in content business for ten years.
Pixoff.net is the Internet community and home of hundreds of documentary- and short films. By encoding, hosting and streaming the work, PIXOFF.NET provides the filmmaker exposure, distribution opportunities and an active community for feedback and networking. PIXOFF.NET brings together both young underground artists and professional filmmakers.


Ilpo Niva, Manager, (External Relationships & Partnership) Nokia – Device is there and ready to welcome good content

Niva has over 7 years experience in Nokia. 1998-2002 responsible for Nokia Mobile Phoness R&D subcontracting in Scandinavia region and recently working as External Relationship & Partner manager. In his latest position Ilpo has been looking after 3rd party possibilities independently to build business on top of Nokia platform. He enjoys skiing, sports and the environment.

 

Kirsi Niittyinperä, – Copyrights in the multichannel media environment, M.A. (Educ.), is the Executive Director of Tuotos - collective society for audiovisual producers. Until 1998 she worked for Filmikamari, central organization for Finnish film producers. She is specialized in copyright issues of audiovisual producers in the changing media environment. As she is actively involved in the collaborative creative industries’ project  Lyhty, is she well updated of the situation of the whole media field. Previously she has worked in administration of education organizations. Kirsi has also produced dance events and dancing still is one of her lifetime long passions.

Moderator: Timo Argillander,
the managing partner of Digital Media Finland, is a consultant and journalist specializing in digital media content and technologies. He acts as a strategic advisor to media and technology companies. He contributes articles to various publications, covering developments in mobile TV, digital TV, and the Internet. Timo is also
the independent editor of Nokia™s Mobile TV Forum newsletter.
